The path of corporatism (or outright fascism) that is being pursued in India goes way beyond mere neoliberalism. There, the "privatization of water, nationalization of rivers" is bringing state and corporate power together in a bid to usurp the resource rights of citizens. In this counterpunch article, P. Theocracy ascendant?

It's been a long time since I blogged here, as I've been busy with many things (including other blogs and websites!). I found the following article however rather startling, especially as it appeared in the Washington Post which has been the most serious mainstream press cheerleader of the Iraq war up until now.  Kevin Phillips who actually authored Nixon's Southern Strategy that ensured Republican domination for a generation, has turned around to reflect on what he had wrought -- a dangerous, newly ascendant American Theocracy that threatens both the future of the US and the World. His observations are frightening, and he introduces them here as a lead in to his new book. Take a look!
